A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the drag-and-drop onto image question type within Moodle. This issue arises from insufficient sanitization of drop zone label text, which can be exploited to inject malicious HTML. The vulnerability affects Moodle versions 4.5 prior to 4.5.1, 4.4 prior to 4.4.5, 4.3 prior to 4.3.9, 4.1 prior to 4.1.15, and earlier unsupported versions.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user.
Users can upgrade to Moodle versions 4.5.2, 4.4.6, 4.3.10, or 4.1.16 to address this vulnerability.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
