A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Curfew e-Pass Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/admin/search-pass.php', where the 'searchdata' parameter is manipulated, leading to unauthorized database access. This vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries, potentially modifying or deleting data and accessing sensitive information. The vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, enabling attackers to manipulate database queries. This could lead to unauthorized data access, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/admin/search-pass.php' with the 'searchdata' parameter. Injecting a payload that exploits the SQL injection vulnerability, such as a time-based blind SQL injection payload, will demonstrate the vulnerability. The injection can be verified using tools like sqlmap, which can automate the exploitation process and extract database information.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input conforms to expected formats. Minimizing database user permissions and conducting regular security audits can also help mitigate such vulnerabilities.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
