EXIF Viewer Classic Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in EXIF Viewer Classic, a Google Chrome extension, in versions through 2.4.0. This vulnerability arises from improper handling of EXIF metadata, allowing arbitrary scripts to be executed in the web browser when an image with crafted EXIF data is rendered.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject and execute scripts in the context of the user's browser.

Remediation

Users are advised to update EXIF Viewer Classic to version 3.0.1, which is not vulnerable.
