NVIDIA NVDebug Tool Privileged Account Access Vulnerability Allowing Code Execution and Data Tampering
Vulnerability
A vulnerability in the NVIDIA NVDebug tool could allow an actor to gain access to a privileged account. Exploitation of this vulnerability may result in unauthorized code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering. The issue affects all versions prior to 1.7.0 on x86_64 or arm64-SBSA architecture systems.
Impact
Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized code execution, a denial-of-service condition, elevated privileges, access to sensitive information, and unauthorized modification of data.
Remediation
Users are advised to download and install the latest version of the NVDebug tool from the NVIDIA Developer Tools page. The updated version is 1.7.0 and later.
