A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WeGIA application, specifically within the 'modulos_visiveis.php' endpoint. This issue allows attackers to inject malicious scripts through the 'msg_c' parameter. The vulnerability arises from inadequate validation and sanitization of user inputs, enabling the injection of harmful payloads that are executed in the context of the user's browser. This vulnerability affects WeGIA versions prior to 3.2.7 and has been patched in version 3.2.8.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user's browser. This can lead to various consequences, such as stealing cookies, executing malicious code on the user's system, compromising accounts, and damaging business reputation.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a GET request to the 'modulos_visiveis.php' endpoint with a 'msg_c' parameter containing a script tag, such as '<script>alert(1)</script>'. The injected script will be executed in the context of the user's browser.
Users are advised to update to WeGIA version 3.2.8 or later.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
