A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WeGIA application, specifically within the listar_permissoes.php endpoint. This issue allows attackers to inject malicious scripts through the msg_e parameter. The vulnerability arises from the application's failure to properly validate and sanitize user inputs, enabling the injection of harmful payloads that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user's browser. This can lead to various consequences, such as stealing cookies, manipulating account information, or executing malicious code on the user's device.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a GET request to the listar_permissoes.php endpoint with a crafted msg_e parameter that includes a script payload, such as an image tag with an onerror event.
Users can update to WeGIA version 3.2.8 to address this vulnerability.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
