Linux Kernel VCHI Keep-Alive Thread Null Pointer Dereference Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A null pointer dereference vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's VCHIq ARM staging driver. This issue arises when the function vchiq_platform_conn_state_changed() is not called or fails before the driver is removed, leaving the keep-alive thread pointer invalid. As a result, the kernel may crash when kthread_stop is called without the necessary checks.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to a kernel crash due to a null pointer dereference.
