A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA mlx5 component has been addressed. The issue arose during the deregistration of device memory (DM) type memory regions, which lack an associated user memory. The problem occurred in the deregistration flow, where the code improperly attempted to unmap a DMA address that was not mapped, leading to a warning. This vulnerability has been resolved by correctly accounting for the DM type and ensuring the appropriate branch is followed in the deregistration process.
The vulnerability could lead to a warning being generated during the deregistration of device memory type memory regions, indicating an improper handling of DMA addresses.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
