Linux Kernel padata Subsystem Use-After-Free Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the padata subsystem of the Linux kernel. This issue arises in the 'reorder_work' processing, where a reference to a padata structure can be freed while it is still being used, potentially leading to memory corruption. The vulnerability occurs when the padata_serial_worker completes a request and frees the associated padata structure, while the padata_reorder function may still be processing it.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to a use-after-free condition, allowing for potential memory corruption or arbitrary code execution.
