Linux Kernel SCSI MPI3MR NULL Pointer Dereference Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI MPI3MR driver can lead to a NULL pointer dereference crash. This issue occurs when the 'bsg_setup_queue()' function fails, leaving the 'bsg_queue' variable with a non-NULL value. As a result, the 'mpi3mr_bsg_exit()' function does not enter the 'bsg_remove_queue()' routine, causing a crash by dereferencing a NULL pointer. The vulnerability has been addressed in the Linux kernel.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a kernel crash due to a NULL pointer dereference.
