Xpro Addons For Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Xpro Addons for Elementor WordPress plugin, specifically in the Site Title widget. This issue affects all versions through 1.4.7.1 and allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, enabling injected scripts to execute when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts through the 'title_tag' and 'html_tag' parameters of the 'Site Title' widget. The injected scripts will then be executed when the page is accessed by any user.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Xpro Addons for Elementor plugin to version 1.4.8 or later.
