MediaTek Chipsets Use-After-Free Vulnerability in Display Component Allowing Privilege Escalation

Vulnerability

A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the display component of certain MediaTek chipsets. This memory corruption issue could lead to local privilege escalation, but requires that the attacker has already obtained system privileges. The vulnerability does not require user interaction for exploitation.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could result in unauthorized privilege escalation, allowing a user with system privileges to gain elevated rights or access.
