Intel Advisor Software Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

A vulnerability in some Intel Advisor software versions prior to 2024.2 allows an authenticated user to potentially escalate privileges through local access, due to an uncontrolled search path.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized privilege escalation.

Remediation

Users are advised to update Intel Advisor standalone component software to version 2024.2 or later. Updates are available for download from the Intel Developer Tools website. Additionally, users should update Intel oneAPI Base Toolkit to version 2024.2 or later, with updates also available from the Intel Developer Tools oneAPI Base Toolkit page.
