A critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the D-Link DAP-1562 access point, specifically in version 1.10. The issue arises in the HTTP header handling function 'http_request_parse', where the 'Authorization' argument can be manipulated, leading to memory corruption. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication, potentially allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial-of-service condition.
Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to a stack-based buffer overflow, which can commonly result in arbitrary code execution or causing the device to crash.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
