BM Content Builder Missing Authorization Vulnerability Allowing Stored Cross-Site Scripting
Vulnerability
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the BM Content Builder plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.16.2.1. The issue arises from a missing capability check in the 'ux_cb_page_options_save' function, which allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the injected page.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the affected page.
Remediation
Users are advised to update the BM Content Builder plugin to version 3.16.3 or a newer patched version.
