A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the AJS Footnotes plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.0. The issue arises from inadequate authorization and nonce verification when saving settings, coupled with insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to modify plugin settings and inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages.
