DethemeKit for Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the DethemeKit for Elementor WordPress plugin, affecting all versions through 2.1.9. The issue arises in the De Product Display Widget's countdown feature, where inadequate input sanitization and output escaping allow authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can use the De Product Display Widget's countdown feature to inject scripts. The lack of proper input sanitization and output escaping will allow these scripts to be executed when the page is viewed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the DethemeKit for Elementor plugin to version 2.1.10 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
