- <= 3.6.0
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Sina Extension for Elementor plugin, which is available on WordPress. This vulnerability affects all versions of the plugin up to and including 3.6.0. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the plugin's Fancy Text, Countdown Widget, and Login Form shortcodes. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can use the Fancy Text, Countdown Widget, or Login Form shortcodes. When these shortcodes are used without proper sanitization, it allows for the injection of scripts that will be executed when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the Sina Extension for Elementor plugin to version 3.6.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
