Campcodes Supplier Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability in View Unit PHP File

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Supplier Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the file '/admin/view_unit.php', where the 'chkId[]' parameter is not properly validated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and leakage of sensitive information.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, which could lead to unauthorized database access, data modification or deletion, access to sensitive information, and disruption of services.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/Supply_Management_System/admin/view_unit.php' with the 'chkId[]' parameter. The injection can be tested using a time-based blind SQL injection payload, such as one that uses the SQL 'SLEEP' function to create a delay, indicating successful exploitation.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
