Element Pack Addons for Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Element Pack Addons for Elementor plugin, specifically in versions through 5.10.28. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. The injected scripts are executed when users access the affected pages. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the Wrapper Link, Countdown, and Gallery widgets.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts through the affected widgets. Once the scripts are injected, they will be executed when the page is viewed by any user.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Element Pack Addons for Elementor plugin to version 5.10.29 or later.
