Image Slider by Ays WordPress Plugin Cross-Site Request Forgery Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability has been identified in the Image Slider by Ays - Responsive Slider and Carousel plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.7.0. The vulnerability arises from inadequate nonce validation in the bulk delete feature, allowing unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary sliders by tricking a site administrator into clicking a link.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for the unauthorized deletion of sliders from the WordPress site.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an attacker must exploit the missing nonce validation by sending a forged request to delete a slider. This can be done by tricking an administrator into clicking a link that initiates the deletion, without the proper nonce verification.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Image Slider by Ays WordPress plugin to version 2.7.1 or later.
