Jeg Elementor Kit Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Countdown Widget

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Jeg Elementor Kit plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.0.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization in the countdown widget's redirect feature, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary JavaScript. This injected script would execute when an administrator or another user views the page with the compromised countdown element.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the affected page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Jeg Elementor Kit plugin to version 3.0.2 or a newer patched version.
