Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Out-of-Bounds Memory Access Vulnerability in ANGLE

Vulnerability

A high-severity out-of-bounds memory access vulnerability has been identified in the ANGLE component of Google Chrome on Mac, prior to version 143.0.7499.110. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to exploit memory access issues through a crafted HTML page. The same vulnerability exists in Microsoft Edge, as both browsers share the same Chromium base, and has been reported to be exploited in the wild.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability leads to out-of-bounds memory access, which can commonly result in arbitrary code execution or memory corruption.

Remediation

Users can update to Google Chrome version 143.0.7499.110 or later. For Microsoft Edge, the latest version is 143.0.3650.80, which includes the security fix for this vulnerability.
