App Landing Template Blocks for WPBakery Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the App Landing Template Blocks for WPBakery (Visual Composer) Page Builder plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 2.0.2 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the 'atvc_video_play' shortcode. As a result, authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will execute when a user views the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and find a replacement.
