WC Builder Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability for WordPress

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WC Builder – WooCommerce Page Builder for WPBakery plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 1.2.0 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Shop Manager-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page. The vulnerability is present in the 'heading_color' parameter, as well as several other styling parameters, of the 'wpbforwpbakery_product_additional_information' shortcode.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the WC Builder – WooCommerce Page Builder for WPBakery plugin to version 1.2.1 or a newer patched version.
