Simple Folio WordPress Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Simple Folio plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.1.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the '_simple_folio_item_client_name' and '_simple_folio_item_link' meta fields. Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts into the '_simple_folio_item_client_name' and '_simple_folio_item_link' meta fields. Once the scripts are injected, they will be executed when the injected page is accessed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Simple Folio plugin to version 1.1.2 or a newer patched version.
