Mamurjor Employee Info WordPress Plugin Cross-Site Request Forgery Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability has been identified in the Mamurjor Employee Info plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 1.0.0. The vulnerability arises from inadequate nonce validation on several administrative functions, allowing unauthenticated attackers to manipulate employee records and related data. Exploitation requires tricking a site administrator into clicking a link that initiates the forged request.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized creation, updating, or deletion of employee records, departments, designations, salary grades, education records, and salary payments.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an attacker must craft a request that exploits the missing nonce validation. This can be done by tricking an administrator into clicking a link that sends the forged request without the required nonce, thereby bypassing the plugin's security measures.

Remediation

No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and find a replacement.
