GitLab CE/EE Incorrect Authorization Vulnerability in Releases API Leading to Denial-of-Service

Vulnerability

A denial-of-service vulnerability has been identified in GitLab Community Edition (CE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) versions 17.7 prior to 18.6.4, 18.7 prior to 18.7.2, and 18.8 prior to 18.8.2. The issue arises from incorrect authorization validation in API endpoints, which could have allowed an unauthenticated user to cause a denial-of-service condition.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to a denial-of-service condition, causing the application to become unresponsive or unavailable.

Remediation
