JustClick Registration Plugin for WordPress Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the JustClick registration plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 0.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of the 'PHP_SELF' server variable. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which could be executed if a user is tricked into clicking a link.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an attacker can craft a URL that includes a script payload injected into the 'PHP_SELF' variable. When a user clicks the link, the injected script will execute in their browser. This can be done by exploiting the registration form of the JustClick plugin, where the 'lead_name' or 'lead_phone' fields can be manipulated to include the malicious script.

Remediation

There is no known patch available for this vulnerability. Users are advised to review the vulnerability details and consider uninstalling the affected plugin.
