Form Vibes Database Manager for WordPress SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Form Vibes – Database Manager for Forms plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.4.13. The vulnerability arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied data in the 'params' parameter, allowing authenticated attackers with Administrator-level access to inject additional SQL queries. This exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information in the database.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to access or modify database information. In this case, it could be used to extract sensitive data from the database.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Administrator privileges can send a request to the 'wp_ajax_fv_get_analytics_data' action. The 'params' parameter can be crafted to include malicious SQL code, which will be executed by the server, potentially allowing the attacker to access or manipulate database information.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Form Vibes – Database Manager for Forms plugin to version 1.5 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
