itsourcecode Inventory Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability in LogSignModal.php

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the itsourcecode Inventory Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the LogSignModal.php file, where the U_USERNAME parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can leak, modify, or delete data. Additionally, it could lead to unauthorized control over the system or cause a disruption of services.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the login.php endpoint with the U_USERNAME parameter. Inject a payload that exploits the SQL injection vulnerability, such as a time-based blind SQL injection payload that uses the SQL SLEEP function to demonstrate the injection.

Remediation

To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input conforms to expected formats. Minimizing database user permissions and conducting regular security audits can also help enhance overall security.
