Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Element Pack Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 8.3.4. The issue arises in the Open Street Map widget, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can add a marker in the Open Street Map widget. By including a script in the 'marker_content' parameter, the injected script will be executed when the page is viewed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Element Pack Addons for Elementor plugin to version 8.3.5 or later.
