WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace REST API SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace – REST API plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.6.2. The vulnerability arises in the update_delivery_status() function, where insufficient escaping of the 'id' parameter allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject additional SQL queries. This exploitation could lead to unauthorized access and extraction of sensitive information from the database.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract sensitive data from the database.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Subscriber-level access or higher can send a request to the WordPress REST API endpoint for the WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace – REST API plugin, specifically targeting the deliveries resource. The request must include the 'id' parameter with crafted SQL injection payloads. The lack of proper input sanitization and query preparation in the update_delivery_status() function will allow the injected SQL to be executed, potentially leading to data extraction from the database.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace REST API plugin to version 1.6.3 or later.
