Magical Products Display Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Magical Products Display plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.1.29. The issue arises in the MPD Pricing Table widget, where insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied HTML tag names allow authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the compromised page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts through the 'mpdpr_title_tag' and 'mpdpr_subtitle_tag' parameters in the MPD Pricing Table widget. The injected scripts will be executed when the page is accessed by a user.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Magical Products Display plugin to version 1.1.30 or a newer patched version.
