Addon Elements for Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Addon Elements for Elementor WordPress plugin, affecting all versions through 1.14.3. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping across various widget parameters. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts via multiple widget parameters. The injected scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
Remediation
Users are advised to update the Addon Elements for Elementor plugin to version 1.14.4 or a newer patched version.
