Zephyr Project Manager Directory Traversal Vulnerability Allowing Arbitrary File Read and Server-Side Request Forgery

Vulnerability

A directory traversal vulnerability has been identified in the Zephyr Project Manager plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.3.203. The vulnerability arises in the AjaxHandler class, specifically within the 'file' parameter. This flaw enables authenticated attackers with Custom-level access or higher to read arbitrary files on the server, potentially exposing sensitive information. Furthermore, on servers with 'allow_url_fopen' enabled, this vulnerability could be exploited for Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive files on the server, with the added risk of SSRF on servers where 'allow_url_fopen' is enabled.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Zephyr Project Manager plugin to version 3.3.204 or later.
