A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Giveaways and Contests by RafflePress WordPress plugin, affecting all versions up to and including 1.12.19. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the compromised page. The issue is linked to multiple social media username parameters.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by entering a social media username in a giveaway entry, which is then stored and executed as a script when the entry is viewed.

Remediation

Users can update to RafflePress version 1.12.21 or later to address this vulnerability.
