- <= 3.11.12
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Visualizer: Tables and Charts Manager for WordPress plugin, affecting all versions up to and including 3.11.12. The vulnerability arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied data in the 'query' parameter, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject additional SQL commands into existing queries. This exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information in the database. Versions 3.11.13 and 3.11.14 address this vulnerability by raising the minimum user-level for exploitation to administrator and fully patching the issue, respectively.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract sensitive information from the database.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can send a request to the WordPress site with the 'query' parameter. The injected SQL commands can then be executed by the server, potentially leading to unauthorized data access.
Users are advised to update the Visualizer: Tables and Charts Manager for WordPress plugin to version 3.11.13 or later.
