GitLab CE/EE Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Kubernetes Proxy

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in GitLab Community Edition (CE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) versions 15.10 prior to 18.3.6, 18.4 prior to 18.4.4, and 18.5 prior to 18.5.2. This vulnerability allows authenticated users to execute malicious scripts by exploiting improper input validation in the Kubernetes proxy feature.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to GitLab versions 18.5.2, 18.4.4, or 18.3.6.
