Elementor Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in WordPress

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Elementor plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 3.33.3. The issue arises in the Text Path widget, where user input is inadequately sanitized before being used to create SVG markup. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users view the affected page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Elementor plugin to version 3.33.4 or a newer patched version.
