Campcodes Online Learning Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability in De-Activate.php
Vulnerability
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Campcodes Online Learning Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/admin/de_activate.php', where insufficient input validation of the 'id' parameter allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and disruption of service.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, which could lead to unauthorized database access, data modification or deletion, access to sensitive information, and disruption of service.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a crafted HTTP request to the '/admin/de_activate.php' endpoint with an injected payload in the 'id' parameter. The injected SQL code can be crafted to exploit the application's database query handling, such as by using time-based blind SQL injection techniques to extract information from the database.
Remediation
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
