Code-Projects Online Bidding System SQL Injection Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Code-Projects Online Bidding System version 1.0. The issue resides in the 'wew.php' file within the 'administrator' directory. This vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries through the 'id' parameter, which are then executed by the database without proper validation or sanitization. As a result, attackers can manipulate SQL queries to gain unauthorized access to the database, leak sensitive information, alter or delete data, and potentially disrupt services.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized database access and manipulation, including data leakage, unauthorized data modification or deletion, and could lead to a complete compromise of the system.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/administrator/wew.php' with the 'id' parameter manipulated to include malicious SQL payloads. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
Remediation
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
