UiCore Elements WordPress Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the UiCore Elements – Free Elementor Widgets and Templates plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.0.16. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping in the UI Counter, UI Icon Box, UI Testimonial Slider, UI Testimonial Grid, and UI Testimonial Carousel widgets. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the compromised pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the UiCore Elements – Free Elementor Widgets and Templates plugin to version 1.2.0 or a newer patched version.
