PHPGurukul Small CRM SQL Injection Vulnerability in get-quote.php

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in PHPGurukul Small CRM version 4.0. The issue resides in the file get-quote.php, where the contact parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access to the database, modify or delete data, and access sensitive information.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where attackers can manipulate database queries. This could lead to unauthorized data access, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to the get-quote.php file with the contact parameter. Inject a payload that exploits time-based blind SQL injection, such as one that uses a SQL injection technique to make the database wait (e.g., using the SLEEP function).

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input conforms to expected formats. Minimizing database user permissions and conducting regular security audits are also advisable.
