Itsourcecode Tailoring Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A critical SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Itsourcocode Tailoring Management System version 1.0. This vulnerability resides in multiple PHP files, including deldoc.php, customerview.php, typedelete.php, templatedelete.php, expview.php, incview.php, partview.php, and staffview.php. The issue arises from inadequate input validation for several parameters, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries that could be executed by the database. This exploitation can lead to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and exposure of sensitive information.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, where attackers can interfere with the application's database queries. This could lead to unauthorized data access, data modification or deletion, and in some cases, executing administrative operations on the database.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a GET request to the deldoc.php file with an injected SQL payload in the 'id' parameter. Similar injections can be performed using the 'expid', 'incid', 'typeid', and 'staffid' parameters, targeting other PHP files that are also vulnerable.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure user input conforms to expected formats. Minimizing database user permissions and conducting regular security audits can also help enhance the application's security.
