A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the YaySMTP and Email Logs WordPress plugin, specifically in versions 2.4.9 to 2.6.2. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. The injected scripts are executed when a user accesses the compromised page. Notably, this vulnerability was initially addressed in version 2.4.8 but reappeared in version 2.4.9 after the removal of the wp_kses_post() sanitization function.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
Users are advised to update to version 2.6.4 or a newer patched version.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
