Legoeso PDF Manager WordPress Plugin SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A time-based SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Legoeso PDF Manager plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.2.2. The vulnerability arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied data in the 'checkedVals' parameter, coupled with insufficient preparation of the SQL query. This flaw enables authenticated attackers with Author-level access or higher to inject additional SQL commands into existing queries, potentially leading to the extraction of sensitive information from the database.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for time-based SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract data from the database. This could include sensitive information such as user data or other confidential records stored in the database.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Author-level access or higher can send a request to the WordPress site with the 'checkedVals' parameter. The SQL injection payload can be crafted to append additional SQL commands to the existing query, taking advantage of the plugin's SQL query handling.
