Arm Mali GPU Kernel Drivers Use-After-Free Vulnerability Allowing Memory Access

Vulnerability

A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in multiple Arm Mali GPU kernel drivers, including Bifrost, Valhall, and the Arm 5th Gen GPU Architecture driver. This vulnerability allows a local non-privileged user process to access already freed memory by performing valid GPU processing operations. The issue arises from improper memory management within the GPU drivers, which can be exploited to gain access to sensitive information or potentially manipulate GPU operations.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to freed memory, which may contain sensitive information or could be used to manipulate GPU processing operations.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to the latest applicable version of the Arm Mali GPU Kernel Drivers. The fixed versions for each affected driver can be found on the Arm Mali Driver Downloads page.
