Royal Elementor Addons and Templates Cross-Site Request Forgery Vulnerability

A Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability has been identified in the Royal Elementor Addons and Templates plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.7.1006. The vulnerability arises from inadequate nonce validation in the 'wpr_filter_grid_posts()' function, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts by tricking a site administrator into clicking a link.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks, where an attacker injects malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an attacker must send a forged request to a WordPress site using the vulnerable plugin version. This can be done by tricking an administrator into clicking a link that contains the malicious payload, which exploits the missing nonce validation in the 'wpr_filter_grid_posts()' function.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Royal Elementor Addons and Templates plugin to version 1.7.1007 or later.
