GitLab CE/EE Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in File Rendering

A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in GitLab Community Edition (CE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) versions 17.2 prior to 17.6.4, 17.7 prior to 17.7.3, and 17.8 prior to 17.8.1. The issue arises from improper rendering of certain file types, which can be exploited to inject malicious scripts.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
